چکیده

PURPOSE Serum/glucocorticoid-regulated kinase 1 (SGK1) has recently emerged as a critical regulator of inflammatory diseases. In this study, we examined SGK1 expression and its possible pathogenic roles in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). METHODS Immunohistochemistry, western blotting, Bio-Plex assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction were performed to assess protein gene levels. The mRNA levels interleukin-6 (IL-6) extracted from CRS database perform correlation analysis. Stable cell lines with overexpression (16HBE) knockdown (A549) constructed investigate the interaction between IL-6 vitro. RESULTS exhibited strong cytoplasmic nuclear staining epithelial layers lamina propria nasal polyps (NPs) mucosal tissues without (CRSsNP). significantly increased NPs CRSsNP tissues, compared control tissues. phosphorylation was greater than (P < 0.01). correlated 0.001, r = 0.649). Exposure cultured dispersed NP cells, 16HBE A549 cells. down-regulated SGK1-overexpressing cells 0.01) up-regulated SGK1-knockdown 0.05). Administration GSK650394, inhibitor, self-induced CONCLUSIONS may play an anti-inflammatory role IL-6-induced inflammation pathogenesis CRS.

The Relationship Between Serum Interleukin-6 Level and Chronic Urticaria

Background: The immunologic profile of chronic urticaria is not only important for diagnostic purposes, but also for therapeutic approaches. This study evaluated the serum levels of Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α) and Interferon-ϒ (IFN-ϒ) in patients with chronic urticaria to find a biomarker.Materials and Methods: Forty-one patients with chronic urticaria referring to the...

Interleukin-8-251 A/T and CXCR2 +1208 C/T Genes Polymorphisms in Chronic Rhinosinusitis

Introduction:  IL-8 is one of the pro-inflammatory cytokines which can play an essential role in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) as well as nasal polyposis (NP). The ability of individuals in producing IL-8 is partially determined by IL-8-251 A/T polymorphism. Hence, the aim of the present study was to investigate the association between IL-8-251 A/T and CXCR2 +1208 C/T genes ...

The link between chronic rhinosinusitis and asthma

Treatments for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and asthma can affect both conditions, based on the united airway concept. This study aimed to evaluate the link between CRS and asthma, based on disease-specific quality of life measures. We performed a prospective cohort study to investigate the correlations between results from CRS- and asthma-specific questionnaires. Thirty-two patients with asthma...

Interleukin-6 and chronic inflammation

Interleukin (IL)-6 is produced at the site of inflammation and plays a key role in the acute phase response as defined by a variety of clinical and biological features such as the production of acute phase proteins. IL-6 in combination with its soluble receptor sIL-6Ralpha, dictates the transition from acute to chonic inflammation by changing the nature of leucocyte infiltrate (from polymorphon...
